Great action page done to show the enormity of the sentinel and its power that withstands the force of the X-Men. Creating tension by its unrelenting assault, that top right panel generates fear throughout the entire page.
Marcus, you do know that your avatar got those bulgy, wide open eyes from looking at too much comic book artwork, don't you?
Set the bad experience aside and enjoy this beauty of page that is back in your possession! I can see why you like it so much. Great example from one of my favorite comic runs ever. Love the scary shadowed Sentinel splash at the left followed by the X-men mobilizing on the right. Some of Cassaday's best stuff for sure, from a pure illustration AND storytelling perspective. Congrats!
The bad trade was not with Roland. Roland is a gentleman. The other guy is not. I thought he was but he fooled me for years. The pages I had, which I traded, were the four pages after this one.
Most sincere and heartfelt congratulations, Peter! Adding this page to your (frankly) astonishing collection of pages from this run is a homecoming of sorts. It sounds like a rough journey to get to this point (which I'm very sorry to hear) but to end up with this...? Winning.
This page is superb, and one of the most memorable to me from the whole run. The culmination of a "something's creeping out from the forest" moment, it holds its own with the best of the Buffy / Angel jump scares thanks to the force of nature that is John Cassaday. Having Lockheed's flame light the big reveal is brilliant, and even that doesn't catch the X-Men flat-footed; they explode into action to protect each other and deal with the threat. Marvelous, Peter! Congrats again, pal!
Thanks. The other thing I am about over. I am willing to bury the hatchet...in his head, if he ever knocks on the door again. Just joking. Highly unlikely, thankfully. This is one of those pages that stick in the memory. A hard sacrifice for me but looking at the art I got eases the pain. If you make it over to Dublin you can check it out.
Great example from one of the classic runs from the XM history. I would not worry too much about a sore trade, we all have one (or more) of those. You haveone of the greatest Cassaday AXM collection, enjoy that!
Hi, Always nice to hear from you. I am content with what I have. It was more what happened after the trade in question. Make it over to Ireland and I will tell you more.
Stunning example of Cassadays X-men....
Awesome page of Cassaday art, congrats on this beauty.
