Ravenous Robin from Dark Nights: Metal

I am missing conventions! So I started digging though some sketches and came across this lovely thing! And what I love the most is getting these Robin sketches!

I recall during a previous convention I had this great conversation with Jae Lee and Jonboy Meyers (each had tables next to each other) about sketches at conventions. It was late in the day and I was getting books signed by both...and it is def not a good time to ask for sketches late during the last con day. But Jae Lee mentioned he LOVED drawing scary horror things. Jonboy was just in awe at how fast Jae came up with things to draw and how fast he worked!

I mental noted this tidbit and it wasn't long before I ran into Jae Lee at another convention. I remember this one was in Connecticut and it was the last day at the con. After running around to get stuff signed I ran to Jae's table just after the noon hour and asked Jae if he had time for a sketch. Jae told me he was leaving the con early to catch a flight and was planning on exiting at 2pm. We talked for a minute and he asked what I wanted sketched...I told me as scary and creepy Robin from Metal as he could. He took my book right then and told me to come back in an hour.

I stressed on this one for a bit because I was stuck in line at the CGC booth for about 55 minutes, in line waiting on a CGC witness to pick up the book. But I had the greatest of conversations in that line during that time and was given an awesome amount of compassion from those in front of me when they heard about the time crunch I was under. And when Brittany over at the CGC booth heard what was happening, she asked everyone left in line if it was ok to take me over and grab that book so Jae could leave and grab his flight...the whole experience was just so over the top nice in the heart. And it may seem simple and stupid to some...at a con, this is the magic stuff people!

So, biggest of thanx to Jae Lee. For his kindness, his time...and the all the magics he makes.
