Aquaman 80th Anniversary Cover

Ivan Reis followed up his amazing green lantern run by requesting to be put on Aquaman. For me personally, he changed the character from a joke character who talked to fish to a total bad ass while still keeping a lot of the classic elements. A lot of his run and designs went on to influence the Momoa Aquaman movie. I love how much power he brings to the traditional image of Aquaman riding a seahorse. One thing I noticed between the pencils and the final image, is how Alex Sinclair accidentally turned some of the bubbles into part of the horse’s bridle.
