DescriptionThis Black Panther page is the finale to a great story involving brass frogs that are time portals stolen from King Solomon's mines. It really gives you as much Kirby bang-for-your-buck as you can get; lasers coming out of eyes, that Aztec-like pattern on the chamber walls, Kirby's wonderful closing font, the flare up that so closely resembles the early Human Torch and of course the wicked imagination that created two linked brass frogs! What I love about acquiring a page is the thing that you can't see from a scan or a photo until the pages arrives - Royer did some amazingly precise inking on Black Panther's pupils - they're the smallest inked circles and they completely covey his astonished expression. I encourage you to pick up the Black Panther - Jack Kirby compendium that has some amazing slick and punchy color added. Flashing comets indeed!!Social/Sharing |

Fantastic page! I LOVE Kirby's 70's-era rendering style on Black Panther. Totally groovy.
