DescriptionThis is a cool piece by the New Yorker mainstay R(ichard) Taylor. Random House published a wonderful book of Taylor's cartoons in 1944, titled "The Better Taylors". As a part of the book, Taylor drew this cartoon-illustration for the title page. I love the imagery in the piece, especially the slogan on the banner. They sadly dropped out Taylor's initials in the printed version, but they look great on the original.Social/Sharing |

What a great design. He gets so much personality out of so little -- the knight's expression reminds me of UPA cartoon characters of the same era.
