DescriptionStar Wars: The High Republic #1 Pg. 18 pencils by Ario Anindito.1st Appearance of Chancellor Lina Soh. Mentioned in the last post that I've been really digging the High Republic Storylines through the books and the comics. Ario is a very gifted penciler as shown in this page which is the first visual appearance of Chancellor Lina Soh who is the leader of the Galactic Republic during this era of Star Wars. Other main characters appear like Avar Kriss, Skeer, Burryaga, and Lina's two pet sibling targons, Matari and Voru. Plus. The main outer rim hub of the galaxy called Starlight Beacon appears in the first panel. I always appreciate a space shot for scene setting on a Star Wars page. Social/Sharing |

I see hammerhead in panel two, the first Star Wars action figure I ever had. So cool! Ario's pencils arereally quites something. I'm not a big fan of collecting "pencils only" pages, though I make exceptions from time to time, but I LOVE blue pencil, especially when mixed in with regular gray graphite as it gives it a great, monochromatic look. Very nice!

Looks fantastic. These finished pencils (?) really allow for so much more detail.

I have not yet checked out anything related to the High Republic as I've fallen way behind on my Star Wars reading material, but seeing this artwork does make me want to check out the book sooner rather than later.
