Description

John Hassall was an amazing English artist from the Golden Age of Illustration. His posters were noted for their color and layout. He also contributed to many books of the period. This small piece is a great example of his inking, which I've always loved. I'm sure it must have been featured in some publication, but, thus far, I've been unable to determine where. There is a recent book on him by Lucinda Gosling. Well worth picking up.
