DescriptionThis was the best surprise from my haul at NYCC this year. I originally reached out to Essential Sequential in July, and set up a Klaus Janson “bust sketch” for Terrificon. Like usual, I asked for an “artist’s choice” with the only stipulation being that the character belonged to the Batman universe. Unfortunately, Klaus was so swamped with sketches, signatures, and fan meet and greats, that he was unable to get to my commission. Jason (his art rep), was super apologetic, and told me that Klaus would be working on it from home, and that he would be happy to mail it to me when completed. As Time got closer to New York Comic Con, I discovered that Klaus would be attending and possibly taking a new list. I reached out to Jason about my Terrificon sketch, and confirmed that we were all set. On Thursday (Day 1 of NYCC), I read in a Facebook group that Klaus may not be actually drawing at the show. I assumed he probably wouldn’t have time for my sketch, and figured I’d just patiently wait for it to get mailed. To my surprise, Jason texted me on Friday at around 3pm to ask if I was coming. I sped down to the ES booth and Jason handed me this amazing Mr. Freeze. I was stunned. I could tell under his mask that even he was grinning and he remarked on how hard it was to hand it over to me. It was such a pleasant surprise. I didn’t know who Klaus would pick. I had a feeling he would choose Batman…but he surprised me with one of my favorite villains. I also think that Klaus made this one extra special with the red color accents, screen tones, and overall scope of the piece due to the extended wait. Huge thanks to Jason, Klaus, and the rest of the Essential Sequential crew for always taking care of me. Social/Sharing |

It is the heavily armored design that a lot of the 90's fans will fondly remember. Janson's take with how wide and strong the figure is, has the intimidation factor coming off Mr. Freeze like radiating waves of blinding cold.
