Talk about chasing nostalgia. I remember the FB statue collector days, the comiquette (which you convinced me to get), and collectors clambering to get the "exclusive" version. Full circle moment to own the original art to the art which was the source material for the best venom statue ever created. Huge congrats on this.

Probably my favorite piece in your collection. The layout of the webs naturally draws the eye towards spiderman. Love the negative space and heavy inks. I'm glad you finally saw the light (...or darkness I guess).

HA! I blame you for all the Risso's in my collection

The classic Superman trope; Clark Kent transforming into the Man of Steel to face an overwhelming threat. I was unfamiliar with Jesse's work..but now I'm paying attention. At first glance, perspective and page layout are the big winners. Three vertical panels draw my eyes upward to the impending threat looming above. The vertical splits and angle of the panels help convey how tall the buildings are and how monstrous the threat is. The bystanders and even Superman himself have varying degrees of shock and awe. Lets not forget to mention the beautiful line work. Great interpretation of a timeless narrative.

I really appreciate that. I like to take my time when writing these, often revisiting what I have written and make slight changes. If I can make someone see a peice of art slightly differently, then I've accomplished my goal. I've been in a rut recently and have a backlog of published/unpublished things to post. Its a shame to the hobby if I don't share them and they stayed trapped in an Itoya. The beauty about this hobby is I don't need to OWN the art for it to make me feel a certain way. Sometime's seeing it in someone else's gallery is enough

Theres such raw talent on this page. Ink wash, the sun rising and subsequently setting between the first and last panels, and lets not forget the brick work in the first panel. Awesome!

While it pains me that I backed down on this page, I am so glad it went to you, someone who obviously has appreciation for the "moments". And you know how I feel about write-ups...the best ones are the ones that make you look back and notice the nuances and intricacies you didn't notice at first glance. Happy for you, but I also hate you.
