Description

Matt Wagner seamlessly fits his independent creation Grendel into the pulpy world of The Shadow in this wonderfully realized mini-series. Grendel � Hunter Rose � is a natural adversary for the famed vigilante in a story set during the Shadow�s classic era, the 1930s.

Not much more to say, except � I hope they do a sequel one of these days.

What a powerful page that gets to what the title promised. Any follow up where they team up to fight the true bad guy is window dressing for pages in this sequence. The stare in that last panel is superb Wagner.

That was a great crossover, the perfect fit for Wagner obviously.

OOOH!! Hunter fell for the ol' "rhetorical question" ploy! Gotcha! Beautiful page, Greg, from a wonderful crossover that felt like a natural fit for both characters. Matt's mad skillz as both writer and illustrator were on full, glorious display on the project, and you have a terrific example of both here. Sincere congrats!

That is the pairing I didn't know I needed until your post. I wasn't aware of this series, but I'm gonna go read it tonight. What a perfect story concept. And Wagner killed the pencils and inks, as he does. Cool score, and thanks for sharing the info. Congrats!
