Disney *** Donald’s Lucky Day from A British Mickey Mouse Annual

Donald Duck Annual Storybook Illustrations Group of 3 (Walt Disney, c. 1940s). The 1939 Disney animated cartoon Donald's Lucky Day, with Donald as a bicycle delivery boy, is turned into an illustrated story in one of the British annual books, which were very popular in the 1930s-50s. At least two different British publishers issued them, Collins and Dean & Son. The full-page illustration in this group is especially cool - note the "Dumbo" poster on the fence behind the lady with a shocked look on her face ("Watch out, Donald!" we can almost hear her say). Besides the full-page illustration (noted as Page 4), there are two pages with three illustrations on each, and room for blocks of text. Art is in gouache and ink on illustration boards measuring approximately 10.5" x 12.5" for two, and 10" x 11.25" on the third. The full-page illustration has an image size of 7.25" x 9.25", while the smaller illustrations range in size from 3.25" x 1.75" to 3.5" x 4". Condition is Good to Very Good, with minor handling wear and light soiling in the outer borders.
