I love the Frank Miller Barney Baxter strips. Here is a partial wartime Sunday strip. Lots of great stuff going on. For me, his style was very attractive. It captured the era and subject to perfection.

Bright and sparse where it needs to be to show the snowy setting and then very tightly packed linework for the shadows for contrasts and depth. A wonderous work of the era.

Marcus, Miller had an instantly indentfiable style, mutch like the Gotto piece I posted earlier. I do love his use of negative space here to convey the snowy setting.
