Description

I know, Goofy and Wilbur was technically a "Special," and was included in the numbering for the Mickey shorts, but everyone associates Goofy with Mickey,

The fish in this drawing are identical to those in the third panel of the Good Housekeeping page, but the final art had a different image of Wilbur, one of him upside down, supported by his front legs/arms.

As is so often the case, the final watercolors for the Good Housekeeping page are badly faded.

I recently realized that I once owned what was likely the animation drawing of Wilbur which was used to modify this pose of Wilber from the position seen in this drawing to the one that is seen in the final Good Housekeeping page. I wish I had recognized this fact before I sold the animation drawing, which I always liked but never considered to be important. But, due to the existance of that drawing, I now believe that this is the only publicity drawingfor the third panel of the Good Housekeeping page, i.e., that a new drawing wasn't drawn from scratch but that the image was merely modified in arriving at the image that was finally photographed.
