DescriptionStunning super early (2nd year of Syndication) Mickey Mouse daily from the 5th storyline, „Mickey Mouse vs Cat Nipp“. This might be one of the most famous surviving Mickey Mouse dailies…it shows the culmination of the confrontation between Mickey and Cat Nipp, as Nipp famously cuts off the tip of Mickey’s tail after he has put countless knots into the same…the second panel with Mickey laughing uproariously (and showing his teeth doing so) is one of my all-time favorite depictions of the Mouse…from the Earl Duvall estate…First published February 4th 1931… I’m always looking for more Gottfredson / Mickey Mouse daily art from the 1930’s through the 1950’s, so if you have any you’d like to sell (or just to chat about - it’s always great to talk art), please don’t hesitate to contact me… Social/Sharing |

The big set of teeth is a nice rarity for sure that is also not often seen in animation. They only put it into play for the well earned moments. It is this out there humor and personality that Gottfredson imbued that played big to audiences and endeared Mickey to generations.

Wow! Incredible draftsmanship on display and personality bursting from every panel. Even with the reprints and the reputation as the good mouse artist I still think Gottfredson is underrated. Congrats on a beautiful piece!
