Swamp Thing painting by Andrew Sides. Gouache and Acrylic on Crescent Illustration Board.

This painted portrait of Swamp Thing spoke to me and as soon as I saw it I sorta knew I was going to have this one and I was lucky to be first. It really matches well with the Frank Brunner Heap cover painting in my gallery as well so now I have to figure out how to display them together.

It was an unexpected addition from an artist I had not heard of before, but then I checked out his work further online and was impressed.

There's no surefire way to draw Swamp Thing, so this approach is just as great because of the feeling it gives the audience. The colors give Swamp Thing a warmth and connects on a human level. The facial expression in this stirs thought and reinforced that Swamp Thing has a humanity within.

The color work is really outstanding, how he blends but also differentiates (if that makes sense!) the green on ST with the reds and oranges in the background. VERY cool effect. Congrats!
