Description

TITLED: "ANNOUNCING the INAUGURATION of THE MICKEY MOUSE CLUB - 12 O'CLOCK NOON, SATURDAY JULY 2Oth, 1929 by the FOX DOME THEATER - Ocean Park, California. - Printed on the poster is a description of " What the Mickey Mouse Club Is And What it Means To, And For Boys And Girls Who Join It". The bottom half promotes "OFFICAL MICKEY MOUSE STORES" describing the supporters. On the very bottom the opening program is listed which includes the Mickey Mouse cartoon in sound "STEAMBOAT WILLIE". Surrounding all this information are images of Mickey and Minnie. The same images were used on the clubs sheet music for the Mickey Mouse "Theme Song" Minnie's Yoo Hoo in 1930. Size of poster is approx. 15 3/4"x 20".Framed and matted to 21"x 26 1/2". Any one willing to part with with one of the officers pins ? The earliest movie theater clubs elected an officer slate headed by children dubbed "Chief Mickey Mouse" and "Chief Minnie Mouse." Buttons were produced for these and a few other offices such as the "Cheer Leader", "Song Leader", "Color Bearer", and "Sergeant-At-Arms".

Wow!!! This is absolutely amazing...such an early and beautiful piece!!! I had never even heard of this...is this the only known copy? Do you know who was the artist on these?
Again...major congratulations on this stunning piece!!!
