Description

"Think this is jam?"

Undercover lady Judges take down a Stookie glanding racket in the Big Meg. Lovely late period MaCarthy, when he was sharing a studio with Brett Ewins and Tony Wright (RIOT).

I was prepared to ascribe the pencils here to Brendan, and inking to Tony Wright but my good friend David Rees inquired of Brendan on my behalf and..."that particular page is all me; pencils, inks, colour paints. Other pages were various mixes of the three of us." Right from the horses mouth!

It's clear how the collaboration worked, though: Panels 2, 3, and 7 are hand-painted on separate boards, trimmed, and attached to the artwork. There's a clear acetate overlay with Tom Frame's dialogue bubbles pasted on.

Incredibly bright and sharp with shapes and color contrasts! It's an eye opener by McCarthy!
