Description

Big fan of Bengal's manga-inspired style. There's a freshness to Supergirl here, as she comes across as noticeably more wholesome in this series (imo), especially when compared to the sexually charged versions we've gotten in the recent past. Appropriate, as this was from DC's Rebirth era.

The published version varies a bit from the original. Bengal explained editorial wanted the "S" visible for the cover, so a patch was made and incorporated digitally during his coloring process. I prefer the original myself.

*the patch was done on a board with other stats, so we decided cutting it out to keep it with the original was the best option

This version would definitely get long time fans intrigued as it adds mystery to how Rebirth may have changed her costume once more. Her good girl innocence is definitely more unique in the era of Bombshells.

I agree the original is better. More personality in her pose here. Congrats on such a magical piece and a number 1 at that!!!

Beautiful and charming cover! I, too, prefer the pose on the original, though I can see why DC wanted the logo visible

I agree about the original being better. I find this version of Supergirl so refreshing after what we had been getting for a few years there. Really great pickup!
