Description

"Mistletoe can be deadly if you eat it..."

This piece was commissioned through James during Comic Art Live in May 2021. I had a couple different ideas but ultimately went with Michelle Pfeiffer from my favorite scene in the Batman Returns movie. At the masquerade ball, Selina and Bruce have a beautiful conversation about letting go of the masks they wear that ends with each of them realizing the other's nocturnal alter ego. That moment gets me every time I watch it, and based on his "To Catch a Thief" drawing, I knew James would be able to do justice to Selina's look in this scene. He called it a companion to that piece, and it's not hard to see why.
