Description

I can't believe it's now been 30+ years since this issue came out! This was actually the final issue of the original New Mutants series, published between New Mutants #100 and X-Force #1. It was part of the "Kings of Pain" crossover with New Warriors Annual #1, X-Men Annual #15 and X-Factor Annual #6.

This cool splash was penciled by Guang Yap, who did some work at Aircel Comics, made a brief splash at Marvel in 1991-1992 and then disappeared from comics. I read that he became a storyboard artist for animation and is now known as Robert Guang Yap.

Looks like they took a look at Michael Golden's GI Joe Yearbook 2 and wanted that military action to be used here!
