DescriptionStar Trek Deep Space Nine 15 March 1998 Issue, "Requiem in Obsidian" - Written by Andy Mangels & Michael Martin. Art by Greg Scott & Joe Rubinstein. Final issue!Garak and Keytra! "DS9's resident tailor would like to forget the deeds he committed as a member of the Obsidian Order." Final issue of the monthly version of the DEEP SPACE NINE comic book. Important personal moment for Garak meditating on his own career as an Obsidian Order special agent, not to say assassin. Maybe he deserves what’s happening to him? This takes place on Deep Space Nine. Stardate 50810.3. 8 years ago, when the station wasn’t yet ruled by the Federation, its Cardassian name was Terak Nor. That’s when Garak assassinated Yenla Tonshi - as he confesses to Dr Bashir earlier on in this final issue. Keytra Toshi, a Lillian (the Lillians were telepathic, gentle yet loyal couriers the Order used on special missions) - was the sister of Yenla Toshi Garak killed 8 years ago. As she died, she planted an « engram » in Garak’s brain - a kind of virus that will eventually bring insanity, and then death. The Lillians are a pacific people. So her sister Keytra has come to try and help and save Garak, by defusing the time-bomb Yenla had put in his head. Perhaps, at the cost of her own life… « Perhaps revenge and forgiveness aren’t as far apart as they seem » - Garak. Pencils by Greg Scott, inks by Joe Rubinstein. Second layer on top of the original pencils & inks art on a thick transparent sheet that covers the whole page. Will gladly send additional, detailed pictures upon request. Very intimate / personal moment for Garak. Social/Sharing |
