Description

Pogo daily from 1968 features a nearsighted LBJ in search of planks for his platform.

After seeing this strip, Johnson reputedly turned to an aide and said "If I've lost Kelly, I've lost middle America." Three days later he announced to the nation that he would no longer seek reelection.
