Description

I always loved the movie Hook:)

It was a fresh and unique take on the Peter Pan mythos, starring the most unconventional of Peter Pans and Captain Hooks in Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman, and directed by the greatest film director of all time.

So of course it should also have one of the greatest film posters of all time!

In 'The Art of Drew Struzan' Drew mentions doing more than 30 comprehensives for Hook. He'd draw a batch, then visit the set where Spielberg would spread them out and flip through them on the spot! Drew would then go back and do another batch, and another, until they settled on the final piece.

This was one of my favorite comprehensives, very similar to the final version, but with less empty map space and a far bigger hook!

Wonderful piece, with the likeness of Hoffman and Williams perfectly captured.

??? I read the description and then your comment. Are you guys writing this under duress or under the influence of mind altering drugs? It was an awful film. Robin Williams at his most unbearably awful peak and Dustin Hoffman in his I will appear in anything period. The prelim is rather nice though. I would suggest you take another look at the movie. Peurile is the word I would use. Barrie must have been whizzing around in his grave when this mockery was released. Feel free to delete the comment. Just had to get it off my chest. The movie sucked and sucked and sucked some more.

You're just salty that Phil Collins didn't get more award recognition for his performance.

You're right that I haven't seen the movie in 30 years, but I did like it as a 14-year old...maybe I'll try to watch it again in the upcoming holidays to see if it's really as bad as you claim... :-))

I forgot that. The mind tries to forget painful events. It truly was a horror film. I forgive you. Rabies has long term effects.

Always nice to read your comments. The art is lovely but as you will find with many things you look at many years later, that the years have not been kind. What impressed you as a teenager may just make you laugh ( for the wrong reasons) I watched a film I adored as a kid recently and it was riddled with awful stuff. Its a famous world war two period movie called Where Eagles Dare, that to the adult mind looks like it was written by a four year old. I read all the famous authors books  (he wrote the film screenplay) as a teenage and enjoyed them at the time. Watched the numerous adaptations of his books to film. The rose tinted spectacles of nostalgia are easily shattered.

You are in lots of great company for the love of this movie.  It's one of my favorites and brings back so much great nostalgia.  This poster artwork is phenomenal.  Such a great piece of original art.  Absolutely amazing in all areas!  Huge congrats!

This is fantastic.  Your Struzan collection is really impressive in general, but this is the one that personally grabs me the most.  Super cool
