Another Hook Comp, likely from early in the process.

Drew talks about drawing a bunch of comprehensives, bringing them to Spielberg on set, chatting about changes, and then Drew making another series of drawings and returning, fine tuning them as they went.

This means that you can slowly start to identify which pieces were done during which generation of changes. There were at least 3 series, if not more.

For instance the "Hook w/ Ruffle" piece is one of the later generations that incorporates a lot of the earlier ideas from different pieces.

Since Julia Roberts didn't appear in the first generation, this piece is likely the second generation of The Face-Off, the design that went the second furthest. There were quite a few subsequent versions of this pose, often with added or altered details moving around it.

This one features the word "Neverland" on the map, which is quite a bit more detailed, even featuring some water splotches.

This was also likely still one of the first times Drew was drawing this pose, which shows through when looking at the originals side-by-side with a later version; you can see the extra rendering or additional lines he tried and didn't use later. A harder, and more detailed line in many places. In later pieces he's 'figured it out' and it's almost memorization at that point. Very enlightening!
