Description
Welcome back to Shemp's Gallery. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Last post of the year. Piece #53 added to my gallery this year. Thanks for coming along for the ride. I plan to keep it going next year. I posted mostly published pieces this year, next year I hope to mix in more commissions and sketches which I enjoy just as much as published pieces.

You can see all 53 pieces I posted this year here: Comic Art Posted In 2021

Dueling Dealers purchase #4.

Green Arrow #94 pg. 1 title splash. A nice title splash from Green Arrow. Bought from Anthony Snyder of Anthony's Collectibles. Again, I don't remember which show exactly. A sweet Jim Aparo and Gerry Fernandez splash with Oliver Queen, Connor Hawke and a wounded Eddie Fyers. Green Arrow is one of my favorite character. The Aparo/Fernandez art team was a bit of a strange fit. You can clearly see Aparo's style there but inked with a more modern flavor. It's Aparo, it's Green Arrow, it's a title splash, No brainer.

Green Arrow #94 pg. 1 "Mall of the Dead" written by Chuck Dixon with art by Jim Aparo and Gerry Fernandez.

Great Aparo splash featuring one of my favorite characters of that period, Connor Hawke.  Congrats on a great Dueling Dealers claim!

There's definitely that modern Image style inks on this as the anatomy would suggest.  It's also a new take on what the Aparo brow normally looks like.  But the figures, poses, the composition, all that lettering, and action style is Aparo style all the way.

Looks like this was one of the times the oil slick arrow worked.
