Description

A Christmas Miracle! This lovely piece by Niko Henrichon arrived this morning. To celebrate the launch of his new creator-owned book "Fang", with writer Joe Kelly, Niko did a couple of "d�dicaces" (or remarks). It's crazy that this is what you got!

I nudged towards the main character of the book, the foxy huntress Fang, as well as some nature-invoking background, reminiscent of Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli work. Truth is, I should get a proper Princess Mononok� commission by Niko sometime soon.

The interior work on "Fang", he does in aquarelle, but I was amazed at how nice these mixed media "remarks" came out. There's regular pencils and inks on this toned paper, as well as white-out for some accents & some color pencils additions. While I was waiting to buy the English version in 2022, I might just have to grab the already released French version still.

Size is 9x12.

Henrichon definitely poured a lot of effort for this illustration. It shows and conveys a sense of Fang's honor and virtue as the protagonist of the tale where she has to hunt down demons and rise above some of her own.
