I'm comin' home, I've done my time
Now I'm One Who Knows what is and isn't mine
If you received this member Guardians of Galaxy
Then West'll know just what to do
If dad still wants me...if Montano me
Whoa, fly a Silver Surfer 'round the galaxy
Twenty Seven years, does dad still want me?
If I don't see a Keeper round the galaxy
It's time to discuss, forget about us, send to addressee
If I don't see a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree

Interesting! I didn't read this book all the way to the end so I never knew Silver Surfer made an appearance. Though given his cosmic ways, in retrospect it's surprising they didn't put him in the book very early on. Anyway, he's looking worse here than I ever remember him looking after any battle. I hope The Keeper got his strength & vitality back!

He first showed up in GOG 24.

The Silver Surfer was the most requested guest star in the book. That said, Valentino had the first two years of the book mapped out in outline form before he began work on any scripting or pencils, so IIRC the Surfer and Galactus story was always planned for issues 24 and 25.

Hmmm, having just taken a look at the covers online, it appears I stopped reading the book somewhere around issue #20 to #22, I believe. But I always kept flipping through the issues even though I no longer bought them after that. Seeing the cover to #24 does bring back memories, but definitely not of having read it, which would explain why I had completely forgotten about it. Can you believe thse issues came out 30 years ago already?!? Wow...
