DescriptionOwning a nice Jim Lee Batman piece has always been a collecting goal of mine, but as the years went by I felt I had missed my chance. This year I was fortunate enough to add this incredible Lee/Williams cover to my collection. This cover is an homage to the iconic Batman & Robin pin-up by Carmine Infantino & Murphy Anderson, but in Jim Lee's All-Star style of the dynamic duo. It is proudly hung on my wall next to an impressive Carmine Infantino Batman. I’m beyond thrilled to own this piece.Wizard #168 cover (2005) Jim Lee & Scott Williams did this Wizard cover after their run on the Batman "Hush" storyline and in conjunction with the release of the anticipated "All-Star Batman & Robin" series by Frank Miller, Jim Lee & Scott Williams. "Jim Lee DC Legends Artifact Edition" book (2019) This image was again used as a cover for the IDW Artifact Edition book. It is also featured as a full page inside the book. For some reason, IDW chose to add aging effects and some imperfections on the cover to give it that "old" look, but the original art is still in crisp, pristine condition and looks like it was drawn yesterday. I don't like to use the term "grail," but this one sure checks a lot of boxes in my collection. Social/Sharing |

Jim Lee and Scott Williams CLASSIC Batman and Robin cover? That is clear GRAIL territory in about any collection, and in your already amazing Bat-focused collection - this is THE definition of grail. I personally love the Wizard covers - they were able to consistently get such great art - I always looked forward to the issues in great part for the covers. Major congrats - thanks for sharing!!!!!

We have here an iconic artist giving his interpretation of an iconic cover. I love how Lee gives an almost 1950s feel to the Boy Wonder.

HUGE check off the collector list, man - congrats! What a way to hit both "Lee" and "Batman". Super indicative image of his work o the character, and very cool that it's an homage yet a great piece in its own right. Some clean inks, as per usual, with right hand inking man Williams. AND a Wizard cover - super nostalgia with those pieces :)
