DescriptionFIRST APPEARANCE OF AN ELOPEMENT IN EC COMICS!I've had this in my collection for at least a decade. Just never got around to putting it up, I guess. Just a great Davis splash with all his monsters present. I've always had a soft spot for Jack Davis Mummies. You can just feel the earth radiating off of them. Social/Sharing |

I miss this, lol. Got to see it again at the Cartoon Art Museum in SF about two years ago, which was nice. I sold/traded it ten years too early!!! At least it's in a great collection.

A simple touch of Davis' hand
And everything is right
The witchy way she looks at me
Is like a kiss goodnight
You've given me the freedom no other post has known
And now I thank you CAF, thank you CAF
The count vampire has touched my heart
Is more than I can say
The Frankenstein you've shown to me
Takes my breath away
A picture perfect painting, that's what our love is
And yes I need you so, and now I know
Ooh
I've found a masterpiece in you
A work of art it's true
And I treasure Davis my love
Ooh
I've found a hairpiece for you
A work of art it's true
And I embalm Andrew

I Was really happy to see this pop up this morning John. What a great example of Jack's mastery of all things monster. His inking in this period was just incredible too. Love it!

What other works of art have you forgotten to put up? Time for a quick check, methinks.

EC Davis art can't be beat. One of the finest splashes I've seen. Congrats!

"A Work of Art" - what an apt title - this is a superior example!
