This is one of the first John Byrne Fantastic Four Try Out pages. A great battle Human Torch vs. Nova (Chrystal?). Please imagine the comic text bubbles yourself. Good luck for us that Marvel did find out that this Byrne Try Out is a great job ;-)

The angles he takes with the action panels give off the full expression of body language. They sandwich the two close ups that are faces by Byrne that can tell a story in themselves. These pencils are quite unique and show an enthusiasm in the craft.

Beautiful pencils! Even back then, you could see in Byrne's talent in every panel. The visual storytelling is so good. Love that opening panel setting the scene, followed by close-ups of the two antagonists, then BLAMMO! as the action explodes in the bottom panel. Great pick-up!
