That is a beautiful page from an amazing story. Such an emotional storyline from a writer and artist at the top of their game. I am so happy that you were able to share this page with all of us.
Having been a spectator spending far too many hours on the site without putting anything substantial back in I am pleased to make amends and find that even someone with a fairly modest collection such as myself has something that other people may find of interest. Gratifying to have your kind remark.
That's a great page - and a cool story! Thanks for sharing!
I was self-conscious about how sparse my collection is in comparison with others on the site but with encouragement, specifically from Felix and Simon, I have started to “share”. It has been a worthwhile experience and I would recommend it to everyone. Thank you for your vote of confidence.
Outstanding page! These early Miller DDs are why I got into comics. Miller's use of Urich as the relatable observer of DD, Elektra, Kingpin and the other superfolks in this tale was really effective
A sharp observation, which is so obvious now that you mention it but which I admit did not occur to me until your comment (in spite of what I say in my description). Thank you for your insight.
A great layout from Miller to create a half splash that he would use in other iconic titles he has done over the years. It is done to make you concentrate and linger on the image for as long as it took you to read the other side of the page. When these stories hit, it became the grim and gritty genre defined.
Your perceptive comment has made me want to pull out my copies of Ronin and Wolverine which I think are two of the titles to which you refer; the first possibly and the second almost certainly.
This is an INCREDIBLE page Simon! One to be proud of! Congrats!
Coming from a collector with the most extensive and impressive DD OA collection I have seen on CAF those are words of high praise. Thank you!
Terrific storytelling on this memorable page. Prime Miller.
Thank you and I am glad you enjoyed seeing it.
Great page. I enjoyed your description too. There was me thinking that Frank had swung to the far right but Trump is so far right hes left the planet. The Miller bit, ' Miller also dismisses Trump with the line, “Real men stay bald”.' leaves doubt as to Franks sanity. We all know thats not real hair on Trumps head. Its a fungal growth.
Classic miller layout plus some great wash tones - quite a page!
Thanks forposting this scoop - that is a super large shot on the right!
Magnificent page from a magnificent storyline. I was always impressed to see how Frank Miller integrated hard-boiled journalism as a clever way to moving the story forward. Of course, Ben Urich is very much at the forefront, but even J. Jonah Jameson stands tall here, demonstrating that the 4th power really means business. A rare treat in the world of superhero comics...
If that isn't the most haunting page
Thanks for sharing this page. Love looking at it and studying it. The impact these issues (179-181) of FM's Daredevil had on me was simply profound.
