DescriptionMarvel Ladies Week 2 continues with another fantabulous Spider-Girl piece.I missed out on this one during Dueling Dealers a while back, but lo and behold, the piece became available again to me (thanks, Anthony!), and I grabbed it so fast it would make your head spin. I just love this splash. It's one of my favorite pages from the run, for a number of reasons. I am always fascinated by how the superhero persona can almost become separate from the regular human being posing as that hero. This image illustrates that nicely. Plus, this is an emotional page in that May Parker has decided to quit being Spider-Girl because of some bad decisions she has made lately. These kinds of "superhero turning points" are always intriguing to me as well. I'm also excited to own this title splash because I also own the original art to the cover of this issue. Here's the link to that one. I also attached a pic of it. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1325054 Social/Sharing |

It's a really nice cover and nother great addition to your Spider-Girl collection. My favourite part of it though, is the first vertical 3rd on the right hand side. I love the very teenaged angst motif!

I say, if you have the cover of an issue then you have to have the title page too. Great pickup!

Common denominator of making this style work for many artists is the amazing inking by Al Williamson. It or reminiscent of the splash to Amazing Fantasy 15 with the large image of the costumed figure and small image of the secret identity as the high schooler.

The rain, the buildings, the bricks - the overall atmosphere - just incredible. Artwork like this was why I kept coming back month after month to this title to the very end.

Great stuff, man! Of course you have the killer big featured Spider-Girl shot taking up most of the board, but the page is SO much more effective IMO with having the solemn May profile shot at the right. Yes sir, I dig it. Congrats!

I bet missing it the first time made your nose feel sticky, just like Spider-girl. I am sure it feels much better now that you get to pair it with the original cover art. Congrats!

Old School Spidey Pose Homage alert! WHEEEE-OOOOO!! I'm with you, this is a very sweet splash. And I love the dual nature of all the Spidey iterations. What a fantastic way to put it, Paul. Your amazing Spidey collection grows apace. Great addition. Congrats!
