Description

A random panel gag I picked up some 20 years ago, "In Our Office," undated 1926. Salsbury "Sals" Bostwick was a promising young cartoonist, who worked as Frank King's assistant on Gasoline Alley before launching , as many young cartoonists did in that era, a number of different strips. "In Our Office" seems from this example to have been a slice-of-life panel series, as opposed to a gag panel, capturing odd and amusing moments of the contemporary scene, in a charming period style (well, period by now, anyway). Sadly Bostwick died in 1930 at the age of 27 from appendicitis.
