My favorite story of 2021. I love Paolo's art to begin with, so when I found out that he was collaborating with my favorite writer, Tom King, for a Superman story, I could not wait to read it. The story held up to my expectations, and went the extra mile by getting my eyes to well up at the end.

As such, I leapt at the chance to pick up some original art from this story. This page made me cry, so this was the must-have page.

(It's not lost on me that this story capitalizes on its sparse use of color to drive its emotional beats home, and it would be nice if panel 6 was in color, but hey, the original art still evokes that emotional memory and that's good enough for me.)
