Description

Here is an iconic Tarzan illustration by the great Russ Manning. I was not able to find any evidence that this is a published piece. It comes from the collection of a good friend and long time ERB collector. It is a smaller sized piece, a little bigger than a postcard 4.75 x 6.5 inches but a lot of art in that small space. On the back is a partially inked study for this piece.

Jeff - I would guess this little illo was done as early as the late-40's or perhaps early 50's before Russ became a pro and was submitting art to science fiction fanzines. A quick look hasn't turned up a publication for this illo.
