Description

Original illustration from the Canaveral Press edition entitled TALES OF THREE PLANETS by Edgar Rice Burroughs in the story "Tangor Returns," page 158. The caption reads "I spent a full week studying the plans and examining the small model."

Krenkel's work for Canaveral Press is near the pinnacle of his career. In this illustration we see the languid, relaxed pose of the character in a setting which mixes science fiction with fantasy in a way which few aside from Krenkel could achieve.

This piece came from the magnificent ERB collection of a longtime friend via our mutual friend Jeff Singh.

Lovely. I remember his work in books from when I was a kid and I loved seeing it. That hasn't changed.
