shout out to the member of our caf community that made this purchase happen. it was a true joy to work with him and he was nothing but nice and a true gentleman. what else can I say? another Steven Hughes in my collection not only illustrating Lady Death but another Queen in horror comics, Vampirella.

Chaos! comics with Hughes was high quality bad girl art. The bad girl trend was calming down by 1999 and these team ups were coming in to keep them afloat, so Hughes was kicking it to another gear.

It's just sad that Hughes would be gone less than a year later and Chaos would go out a few years after. So these were some of his most refined and lasting statements on Lady Death and Vampirella.

i get it. i absolutely agree. these are a couple of pages before a era ended but i am super grateful that Coffin and Dynamite are keeping these characters and stories alive so an old man like myself has a reason to continue to support the comic indusrty.
