DescriptionWhat a great punch panel. I love how Wolverine breaks the second and third frame in a very difficult to draw downward angle. Beautiful lines from Leinil give richness and texture, even in the sterile SHIELD cell interior. Thanks to Kwan. Social/Sharing |

Glad you like! I have a few more to add from this issue, stay tuned. I loved that storyline, along with civil war, new avengers...all from that slice of comic history. In my mind it was not so long ago but...15/16 years ago? Dang.

Yeah, I also cannot believe this came out so long ago. It was a wonderful time to be reading comics.
Yu is one of my favorite artists, but his work can feel somewhat stilted (I still love it). However, that first panel just moves. I certainly wouldn't want to be punched by Logan.
My favorite is the final shot of Wolverine facing the audience. That has become one of my favorite still images of the character, especially of the last 20 years.
Thanks for sharing this here with us!

Oh yea, this is easily my favorite period of Yu's work. So much movement in his lines!
Glad you appreciate! I uploaded a large scan to see all the juicy details, however copy shop scanners seem to have trouble picking up pencils. I'm in search of a better place as we speak...
