Wow, I love this! Neal Adams was the very first comic artist whose work I adored, and since he was essentially no longer doing almost any work in the biz when I began reading/collecting, I ate up everything and anything done by anyone apeing the Adams style. In those younger years, I was happy enough to to take a "poor man's Adams" than to have no Adams art at all. But the Grindberg stuff I first saw was his issue of Savage Sword, which was inked by McLeod and I thought looked great, but then in ensuing years his inkers never really did a suitable job. So while the figure poses were still obviously in the Adams style, the final line art just wasn't anywhere nearly as good a the Adams and Giordano finishes I was used to seeing in back issues. But this piece, I can confidently say is probably the absolute best single thing Grindberg has ever done in Adams' style, as the inks look closer to Adams's and Giordano's finishes than anything else I've ever seen Grindberg do with that style. Congrats, man, it's gorgeous!

This would have looked great in magazine form and on par with anything they used Return of the New Gods in 1977.

That's great! I'm guessing it's probably from the mid 80's? I think Grindberg was doing a better Neal Adams imitation than Neal Adams himself at that point!

There is date but yes, I understand it was about that time.

Neal Grindberg kills it again! ;) That OMAC transformation front-and-center is a great choice, and I dig the geometry he worked into the image to draw everything towards the central image. It's too bad this wasn't published, it's a great cover. Congrats!

Wow (totally missed this) I'm a big OMAC fan and the idea of a Grindberg-Adamsesque take on the One-Man-Army-Corps woulda been perfect for me, congrats!! 👁
