Description

I've always loved the Main Man since the Bisley minis. This page is from an early Lobo appearance from his first solo story in '86. Giffen was heavily into his highly stylized period which had changed from the early Lobo Omega Men appearances three years earlier. I love the noir mood in the story as Lobo stalks his old partner from the shadows. This gave Lobo a sinister feel, but Keith changed the tone to be more light-hearted and comedic with the mini-series that later launched Lobo to stardom.

Great piece that displays a complete Kiffen page in writing and art. The distinctive panel borders and balance of shadow and light are all his. The thin linework for the long frail characters and thick shadowy lines for the stout mucsclebound characters.
