DescriptionI really enjoyed the Venom story that played in Philadelphia, I mean how often do you see the city you live(ed) in appear in a comic book? Unless of course you live in NYC or Gotham City.click here - Venom Cover 30 click here - Venom Cover 37 click here - Venom Cover 38 click here - Venom Cover 40 Social/Sharing |

You can say that again, Andy. I mean, shit, I read Alpha Flight, a book about Canadian heroes, for YEARS and I still never got to see a story that was set in the city I live in! Only in 1984 when writer Mark Shainblum and artist Gabriel Morrissette, both from Montreal, created and published the book "Northguard", was I finally able to read a comic that took place in my city. So I understand the thrill!

So awesome with the bricklined streets adding a lot of depth! It really captures a flavor of a city with the mix of architecture and the children playing by the fountain. A quiet Agent Venom cover, but not for long if you've read Bunn and Shalvey books before.

Well I do live in NYC, but I am willing to let a hero comic book story occure in another city occassionally. Just kidding, but seriously this cover has a nice urban feel to it. Congrats.

I really enjoyed Agent Venom's adventures and remember Declan's work well on it. Nice to get a cover that you can relate to. Being in Oklahoma, I don't expect to see too many cow-tipping covers anytime soon!

I think a lot of New Yorkers are tired of seeing their city destroyed in comics and movies. They're perfectly fine with Philly, though. Strange that. ;) Great cover by Shalvey, with nice dark and moody inks. Lots of cool techniques on the page, too. Very nice cover. Congrats!

Glad to see you were able to steer this into your collection!! It's a great cover and even sweeter that you're personally familiar with that park.

Fabulous cover! Declan Shalvey's work is superb! Love work like this that spends the time to draw backgrounds to add a sense of time and place.

I always enjoy seeing Declan Shalvey posts on CAF. This is a beautiful tableau with the brightly lit fountain scene contrasting with a pensive (yet awesomely costumed) Venom --- and a great cityscape behind it all. I love how Venom's trenchcoat is sprouting tendrils, which adds to his moodiness.

I'm a fan of Declan's covers, but he really outdid himself here. I love the contrast between the moody Venom and the people enjoying themselves in the park behind him.
