Another Kirby Hulk page, wow - HUGE congrats Dave! And agreed, a Kirby Hulk is a Kirby Hulk, SCORE!
I know, I know. I had to pinch myself when this art day happened!
This is beyond phenomenal! Congratulations, brother! KIRBY!!
Thanks Shannon, my Kirby brother!
Whoaaa! The Cosmic Powered Hulk! What a fabulous page by the incredible team of Jack Kirby and Mike Royer! And what a page it is--With Hulk earing through a space ship with his bare fists! AAAARRRRR!!
Dude! This one is killer huge congrats on such an incredible piece!
Cosmic Spidey.. I knew...Cosmic Hulk is an exciting piece of news that proves you are never to old to learn something new. Congrats on a stomping great page!
Oh my! So awesome, congrats!
OH MAN!!!!! There are home runs, and there are home runs! This is an out of the park blast! When you think of this short lived series, you always come to these two Hulk issues. Scoring a multi-panel Kirby Hulk page from one of his Eternals issues would be a dream come true for any collector, so I can only imagine what this means to someone like you. Big time congrats buddy!
Thanks Eric, I appreciate your comments so much as you always seem to capture something about a piece perfectly - like you did here with what this means. Thanks again, my friend!
Hulk KIRBY SMASH.
Hulk & Kirby, a lethal combination!
Love everything about this. Congrats!
'Monster' page!
Close enough!!! I'd say you got it! At the very least, it's a great place holder.
Maybe - the more I look at this one, the more I doubt it is going anywhere. But true, it is a win/win in either scenario. Thanks Johnny!
EXCELLENT pickup and inclusion in the best Hulk collection out there, Dave. Congrats!!
Thank you! That is a very humbling statement Erange as I know of multiple Hulk collections with either more Hulk art, collections worth more, or both!
Kirby style, measure Hulk hands, darling
Resist art is defeating.
Kirby is the man. Do you feel the same?
Am I only dreaming?
Is Hulk smashing an Eternal's brain?
Hulk believes cosmically, darling
I'll snipe this when you are sleeping
But you outbid me
You don't feel the same? Am I only dreaming?
Or is Hulk smashing (smashing) my Eternals flame?
Claim show claims
Mike shines through the inks
A bold Hulk so Kirby
Hulk then comes and brings the pain
I don't want to lose this feeling, oh
This is the Wai ... to leave CAF comments. Thanks as always Marcus, you have set a commenting standard that may never be eclipsed.
WOW! The sheer Kirby power!
Wonderful page, congratulations
Whoa, nice layout on this one!
Such an amazing piece of art by Kirby himself, I remember this issue fondly as a kid. Incredible piece to add to the collection for sure!
Great page with some scary Hulk images! I briefly owned the Hulk/Ikaris cover to #15 in the late 90's and I'm still kicking myself for letting that go!
OUCH! Live and learn - you probably got somethng really good with the proceeds. Thanks for the comment Ted!
Beauty!
You would have to be familiar with the story to know that this wasn't really the Hulk. It is as rampaging as you can get. But then again, IMO, you can't go wrong with any Kirby art. Congrats.
Dang Dave you are not messing around. What a great Kirby page!!!
Oh man, this is magnificent!! Yeah, being unfamiliar with this story, for me this is as 'Kirby Hulk' as it gets!! Major congrats!!!
A jaw dropping addition my friend! So cool to see this Kirby-Cosmic-Hulk page full of action!
This piece wins the week as far as I'm concerned. Kirby-tastic!
It doesn't get much more iconic than this. That middle panel just about sums it all up. What an epic pickup. Congrat Dave!!
Sure, for the sake of the story it's a Robot. But you're buying it because you want an example of the Hulk drawn by Kirby and that's still exactly what this is. Great page, too!
Thanks Ruben! And, you are exactly right as to the "why" I bought it ... and also for another reason - I love the cosmic Hulk and sought art from Ed McGuinness Red Hulk run with his version of cosmic Hulk (which he said he drew inspiration from this Kirby run). It's a win-win scenario!
Awesome Hulk, congratulations!
A Hulk of a GEM!!!
Aaargjhh my radar was better than yours but your power outmatched mine for this tremendous royale page !!!
Huge congrats for adding this Hulk to your Jade Giant Lovely Collection!!! Despite my frustration I'm truly happy for you!
Thanks Romain! Sounds like we have similar taste, and might need to chat
Late Kirby Hulk versus early Kirby Hulk? Its smashing, either way!
Incredible 1st cosmic Hulk page, great pick-up Dave!
Dave Smash! Excellent, excellent page! So much Hulk action on the page, too. I know, Cosmic Hulk, but it's a perfect Kirby Hulk page. Huge central Hulk, as Kirby a Kirby Hulk you can get in that bust panel, and a Feat of Strength. What more could you possibly want? Giant congrats!
Love it Dave! Those Kirby Eternals/Hulk issues were fantastic. Congrats and thanks for sharing.
'70s Kirby has experienced massive re-rating and rightly so. His work in those years is so expressive and energetic. This is a fantastic example. And, BTW, nobody does flying debris as well as Kirby!
I couldn't agree more - 70's Kirby feels so expressive for what Jack was trying to do with his art, and the inkers (by and large) really stayed true to his pencil work. I love his work from this period and so happy to have an example like this. Thank you!
So awesome, man! Hard to top Kirby Hulk, let alone an action packed page like this with something to see, including sound effect lettering, in every panel! Gotta love the layout, with the storytelling on top and bottom sandwiching the money shot in the middle. Pure Kirby magic. Congrats!
Great page with a nice symmetrical layout - and great provenance
Wow!!!!! Insane in the membrane!! Huge congrats on this monstrosity of a page bud!!!
Added some additional back story to the page ...
What an absolutely killer Kirby Hulk page!!
The King! Well, it defintely counts as the Hulk, and it is drawn as only Kirby could. Brilliant action, and the punching fist before the reveal really illustrates the fear and danger of encountering the beast. Great background story as well.
