FANTASTIC page, Jim. It's really rare (as you well know) to have a page with both Batman and Grendel on it, but scoring Batman, Grendel, AND Gordon?!? Yahtzee!! :)
Grendel's appearance from out of the shadows (like the Devil-on-the-shoulder) in panel 4, (especially after Rachel had just talked to Gordon) is bone-chilling, and setting the word balloon _behind_ her shoulder is an absolutely brilliant move to convey the lightness of touch Grendel is operating with.
The economy of Matt's figure work (the "shorthand" he uses to convey as much info with as few lines as possible) is one of my favorite things about his art, and panels 6 and 7 are beautiful representations of character physicalization. The stylistically reckless inking of the background sky in panel 6 underscores exactly how off the rails things have gone, and how desperate The Batman is to race to the museum to set things right... even though he knows it's too late.
Gorgeous page, Jim, from Matt's best Batman story (yeah - I said it!!). Congrats!
