DescriptionThe New Mutants had taken their hits over the years, but the run from Inferno through Asgard part 2 pretty much spelled the end of the team as we knew it.Hela is trying to take over Asgard and has co-opted Dani and the other Valkyrie to do her bidding. Bret had an amazing run on the title, that ended with this saga. I thought his distinct take on the hellfire consumed Valkyrie would be even more impactful as a painting, as he’s a master at all mediums. 11x17 Social/Sharing |

Wow! Love this, Andre. A haunting but bright image at the same time. It's like you can feel the heat coming from the board. Love the fire rendering, and all the hues of red/orange/yellow. As you say, Blevins is a master of all mediums, and this is a definitely an example confirming that for paints! Congrats!

This looks like painted art for one of those Marvel Masterpiece Cards with how definitive it looks.

This period of the New Mutants is totally unknown to me. But who can argue against Bret Blevins as a great artist ?!?

There's lots of debate about this period pre Liefeld. Personally, I thought Weezie and Bret were great together.

Talk about ethereal and psychedelic! Love the brushstrokes throughout and the framing. This series is well outside my mostly DC Universe, but super cool!
