Spider Series: Scarlet Spider - Tom Reilly

Tom has been doing a really great series of “warm up” sketches of various Spider-Man costumes & characters that he has been posting to his social media accounts. The series has truly been amazing, no pun intended. Each character is traditionally drawn and then set against the same digitally created skyline, but colored differently. Tom just seems to nail these energetic poses and each one has such different energy yet all scream Spider-Man. I hope someone at Marvel is paying attention, this dude needs to be on a Spider-Man book!

This is naturally the third image he posted in the series and at this point I became very hopeful that he would tackle all of my favorite Spider looks. This was another gem of a piece & I really dig the angle & perspective on Ben Reilly here. The Scarlet Spider (hoodie) look is straight out of my sweet spot era of comics, so naturally I am always drawn to this outfit.
