Description

I've been admiring John McCrea's artistic progression and especially his tight linework and interesting new crosshatch shading style. Despairing of ever owning a Kevin O'Neill LOEG piece, it struck me that John could likely do a very credible rendering of the characters. I contacted him and discovered that he was also a fan of the comic and would be keen to give it a go. And thus a commission was born! I really love the way it turned out -- the perspective, the sinister seagull(!), all the extraordinary details. John definitely captured the personality of the League members. And he carried on good-naturedly despite my "suggestions" to add the Nautilus along an old London waterfront background. Thanks for being such a good sport, John! I'd say the end result speaks for itself. Did I mention this drawing is huge? A2 size(!)

Very finely done and tilted at an angle for the League for an even more energetic look to the piece!
