Description

A great image of Thanos leering over the Infinity Gauntlet, published a full four months before IG #1. It really nails the atmosphere of a newly omnipotent baddie getting ready to start trouble.

I like to call this the cover that launched a thousand commissions, as Perez has aped this scene for many collectors over the years. It's both iconic and relatively easy to draw!

The piece is on acetate, mounted on board with overlay.

Yeah, you could say this is the bIG launch image for what would spawn so many comics and an eventual major movie arc. Congrats!

Relatively easy to draw must be the understatement of the year! Maybe to do a sketchy copy but theres an awful lot of elegant inkwork in this which would take a few hours to reproduce if you went the whole hog.

I owned this years ago and George verified for me (and signed a letter) that he did the art on acetate. He remembered doing it and told me how he created the stars BUT BUT BUT he could not remember WHY he did it on Acetate but he verified it to me as original art.
