Description

15 x 22 page from Eisner and Ignatz Award-winning cartoonist Seth's story about his obsessive search for a forgotten New Yorker cartoonist, Jack "Kalo" Kalloway. Collected in 1996 and originally serialized in issues #4-9 of Seth's series, Palookaville.

I'm fortunate to have another pages from this book: the page following this one that continues the conversation between Seth and Chester Brown.

I took this book out of the public library more years ago than I care to remember. I think I'd like to check it out again. Congrats on landing a page from such a classic!

Thanks, Michael. I re-read this for the first time in a dozen years myself! I knew then I needed to grab a page. It's funny how OA collecting works sometimes.

Great page from a great book - indie comics history comes to life! Chester Brown drinking thru a straw is a great panel.

A great book, which unfortunately I no longer own. Indie art is refreshing after so much superhero work. Congrats.

Seth's art makes great economic use of line where every measured brush stroke has intented detail to convey the tone of the conversation. It remains consistent and visually keeps you in this world.

This is really a great page, Mark. I've been a fan of Seth's work for years and this is one of his best books. The coversations between Seth and Chester in this book and with the two of them and Joe Matt in Matt's books are among my favorites in comics. Congrats on obtaining a peice of indi comics history.

Such a memorable story, and a gorgeous page! What a fine example, with Seth and/or Chet in every panel, cigarette plumes and characteristic garb on each character, and talk of The New Yorker lettered directly on the page. Love Seth's lines and designs
