DescriptionI just heard that Neal Adams passed away today. Definitely a sad loss. He was one of the first artists whose work impressed me when I was a kid. I loved his work on the Avengers, X-Men, Deadman, the Spectre, and even bought the Superman vs Muhammad Ali book off the stands. This art is the only Adams art that I own but I am very glad to have it in my collection.Social/Sharing |

Fantastic likeness and speaks to the notion that Neal still had it in his later years to bring inspired artwork.

I was a Marvel fan back in the 70s, with little interest in DC books, largey due to the rigid house style at DC. But Neal was the one artist in those days who's work was so good that he stood out, despite adhering to the DC look. What a legacy he leaves behind. This is a very beautiful, lifelike, and recognizable portrait!

I was more of a comic book fan back then. I'd buy from any publisher as long as the story looked good. Of course, great artists like Neal (and Kane, Kirby, Wood, Andru, etc) jumping back and forth between companies helped.
