DescriptionIt's Spider-Man vs. Kingpin, with the wall-crawler driving the crime boss absolutely bonkers with a barrage of ridiculously childish insults! The days of the Ultimate Spider-Man franchise (especially the early days) were something special. Brian Michael Bendis was in top form with his writing and Mark Bagley was back to doing what he did best: drawing Spider-Man! All in all, a super fun page with tons of action to draw the eyes to! Hell of a wall crawlin' good time with this page. Bendis was indeed a master of the script back then and in multitudes of books at that. Congrats on this slice of history!

Love that top panel! Kingpin looks bigger than Hulk!

The early Bendis and Bagley USM issues were the launching pad for new readers to hop aboard and was the hottest series Marvel had to offer. They coincided with 9/11 and the first Raimi movie when escapism was at a premium. The reimagining of first appearances and events excited fans as this timeline was not beholden to over 450+ issues before and was collected in TPB that opened the door for comics to get into bookstores and have a reach beyond just the LCS. This early page is Bagley at his action finest. Spidey didn't have too many foes he could defeat on his own being a rookie in these early issues, so it is cool to see him get the upper hand in a fight.

A fabulous early page. I love how Bagley drew Spidey small and skinny while hugely exaggerating Kingpin, which really emphasized the size disparity between the two of them.

Bagley certainly picked up the Spidey torch and ran with it, while making it his own. Great page - thanks for sharing!

Color me green with envy on this one. One of my favorite early Ultimate Spidey issues. Love how big the Kingpin is vs the small scrawny Spidey! Congrats!

What a great Spider-Man page by Mark Bagley! Any time you get Spidey battling the Kingpin, you know there's gonna be a battle! And this one's a doozy!
